HOW CAN YOU MAKE SURE YOUR CAREER COACHING REALLY HELPS YOU STAND OUT?
Executive Coaching is most effective when its done with someone who has some practical experience in the area you need support. Before I re-trained I spent 25 years working for a global blue chip organisation. Through the years I spent in corporate business I held positions in sales, marketing, European account management and team leadership. I led a £100m business in the UK and Benelux and, in the years before I left, operated at European board level taking responsibility for a range of strategic projects. Although I decided it was time for me to do something different, my experience as a senior leader is hugely precious and valuable to me, and I believe it can be of real benefit to you too.
There is a huge difference between being a “manager” and being a “leader”. I enjoy helping people transition from the restriction of the former to the deep satisfaction that comes from being the latter.
I have plenty of tools and processes which can help you but in the end it will be pragmatism and realism that will be of most help. Theories provide good foundation, I’ve read and studied more material than you can shake a stick at, but I have also lived it and continue to do so every day of my life. Whether I am right for you or not is another issue. So let me tell what I think I can help best with. If you’re unsure you can always mail me or call me for a chat.
These are the things I really know about.
- Mentoring senior leaders/board level executives
- Coaching leadership challenges and change management
- Making career change
- Reviewing and critiquing CV’s
- Coaching interview technique
If you’re looking for someone to help you understand your skills and which jobs might suit you I’m probably not right. But if you are looking for help and support in making the best of yourself and finding a way to create a wonderful and fulfilling professional life I probably am.
